Pork

As I'm preparing for the New Year (Rosh Hashanah) and doing a study on the sermon on the mount, I can honestly say I don't understand why people don't think that eating pork is okay. Or not following the law is okay. It truly doesn't make sense to me.

All the while I'll admit I love bacon and crave it ;)

I was raised not eating pork (for the same reason you stated) and even when I used to eat meat, the idea of pork grossed me out because it had been ingrained in my head that it was unclean!

Mark 7: 14Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. 15Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean.' "

17After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18"Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean'? 19For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.")

Sorry, forgot the subtext after end of 15, was a note "f" and that's this:

Mark 7:15 Some early manuscripts 'unclean.' 16 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.

Bunny the problem is that God didn't see pork as clean or unclean, but not even as food.

Mt. 5:17 I came not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it.

Fulfill means to properly interpret. The law is useful, though righteousness is not found there.
